AUDRI brengt nieuwe single FOOL’S GOLD uit vandaag!

Fool’s gold was written in 2015, one of Audri’s first songs. She wrote the melody after messing about with Beethoven’s ‘Für Elise’ for a while. The lyrics are inspired by the Latin saying ‘Acta est fabula plaudite’. It seemed suitable for a break-up song, and inspiring to Audri, still having unfinished thoughts about a past relationship. From all the songs on the EP this one is extra special, because it’s the first one she ‘produced’. One summer, she put up a small studio at her parent’s garden house and fooled around with the song in Ableton, which she’d just discovered. It’s definitely a song that comes from the heart.

Audri has been singing and playing the piano ever since she was a kid. Over time she started sharpening her skills as a songwriter and also took up an interest in production these past years. Her first live-shows were at Lefto presents (Vooruit) and a support for Mount Kimbie (Muziekodroom). Those shows gained her the award for ‘Most Promising Artist’ at the 2016 Red Bull Elektropedia Awards. Since…she gained experience opening a bunch of shows for Tamino, playing several solo-shows and her first festivals.

Her first EP is finished, set to be released early October. With singles ‘Midsummer’ and Fool’s Gold’ we get an insight into Audri’s universe. Simple yet very effective guitar-riffs blend perfectly with more produced songs. A mesmerizing ode to the summer, frustration, anger…the many faces of love.
