BLONDIE reveal new video for LONG TIME and announce pop-up shop!

Blondie announce their first ever pop-up shop will be coming to Camden Market in London from April 29th until 3rd May, as well as a unique photography exhibition by the band’s co-founder and guitarist, Chris Stein. This very special pop-up and exhibition comes ahead of the band’s sold out Roundhouse show on May 3rd, celebrating the release two days later of their remarkable new album Pollinator. Tickets for the show sold out in 30 minutes. The Camden pop-up shop will give fans the first chance to get their hands on exclusive merchandise, including highly limited edition vinyls, vintage tees as well clothing, bags and posters designed by artist Shepard Fairey. Exclusive items include 1000 copies only of a one off 7″ vinyl of previously unreleased and unheard track ‘Tonight’ co-written by Charlie XCX and recorded during the Magic Shop album sessions. The shop will also host an exclusive photography exhibition by Chris Stein. Similar to Stein’s exhibition Chris Stein: Negative at Somerset House in 2014, this will showcase a series of iconic photographs, providing a behind the scenes look on life in the trailblazing band.

Today, Blondie also reveal the video for their latest single ‘Long Time’, taken from their 11th studio album Pollinator, out May 5th. ‘Long Time’ is the third offering from this remarkable new album, once again perfectly demonstrating the record’s blend of Blondie’s pioneering past with new influences from modern music’s great innovators. The track also reignites a winning formula of Debbie Harry and collaborator Dev Hynes (AKA Blood Orange).

Set in the city where Blondie’s story began over four decades ago, the video for ‘Long Time’ sees the band in a chaotic, loud, and fast-paced New York. The video flips between scenes of front woman Debbie Harry driving recklessly in a signature yellow cab and the band playing on the streets of New York. This is a video that seamlessly reflects the raw energy of both the band and their city.  The video for ‘Long Time’ was shot and directed by Dikayl Rimmasch. New York based Dikayl also worked with Beyonce on her Lemonade album videos in 2016. His relationship with Blondie began earlier this year, when he directed the video for Pollinator’s debut single ‘Fun’. Dikayl’s pure talent and creativity are ever apparent in this latest collaboration with Blondie, a band who tapped into New York’s creative music and art scene long before the rest.

Like its two Pollinator predecessors ‘Fun’ and ‘My Monster’, third single ‘Long Time’ showcases an album made with an enviable series of collaborators, elegantly moulding their love of Blondie with their own sound. Available to preorder now on CD, Cassette, Heavyweight vinyl, Ltd 7″ box set. Pollinator is also available as a heavyweight white vinyl via selected indie stores and heavy weight red vinyl via the artist store
