DUNE RATS announces the release of a limited edition 7 inch vinyl and European tour dates!
Straight of the back of the SXSW festival madness in Texas and a run of US shows, Aussie party Ratbags, Dune Rats is UK & Europe bound!
Dune Rats debut EP ‘Sexy Beach’ received praise both nationally and internationally, capturing the minds and hearts of music bloggers around the world. This led to Dune Rats first national tour in February 2011, supporting party monsters DZ Deathrays, only months after forming. With the release of second EP ‘Social Atoms’ in September 2011 Dune Rats saw the first taste of airplay, with single ‘Pogo’ gaining high rotation on Australia’s national radio-station Triple J.
Throughout 2012 the momentum continued, with constant touring Dune Rats’ reputation for a raucous and energetic live show gained them a spot on the Big Day Out Festival and national tours with bands such as The Drums, Best Coast, The Vines, Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graphitti, and Cults.
Dune Rats’ singles ‘Fuck It’ and ‘Red Light Green Light’ followed up the boys their previous airplay success and both singles have had high rotation on Triple J and plenty of love on YouTube (Red Light Green Light especially sparking up interest around the world :)). Tours with The Hives, Children Collide, FIDLAR, crowd-bending shows at SXSW, Splendour In The Grass, Spin Off Festival, Circo + headlining tours in the USA, South Africa, South East Asia and Australia and the much lauded EP ‘Smile’ have kept the boys busy making their way.
Now, in the lead-up to the release of their debut album in the second half of 2014 the Dune Rats are off on another international exploration including their first ever run of shows in the UK and Europe and invitations to perform at The Great Escape and Liverpool Sound City. In their bags will be a limited edition 7inch limited release pressing featuring ‘Red Light Green Light’ and ‘Fuck It’, that will be out through Ratbags Records & Republic Of Music.
