PAROV STELAR launches new single ‘HOOKED ON YOU’
With ‘Hooked On You’ feat. Timothy Auld Parov Stelar delivers a first taste of the album ‘The Demon Diaries’, set for a release on May the 1st. The lead vocals are from English multitalent Timothy Auld, who has two features on ‘The Demon Diaries’.
Marcus Fuereder, better known by his stage name Parov Stelar, is an Austrian musician, producer and DJ. He performs with his band, the Parov Stelar Band, and as a trio, the Parov Stelar Trio worldwide. Parov Stelar is the head of Etage Noir Recordings and Etage Noir Bookings.
His first release for Etage Noir Recordings, the EP Kiss Kiss and the release soon after, the LP Rough Cuts in 2004, provided him an immediate breakthrough in the international electronic music scene. His specific approach to music production, combined with a proven sense of sound aesthetics, led to a massive reaction from audiences and colleagues all around the world, giving him the reputation as the founder of a new genre: Electro Swing. From then onwards, everything moved very fast and Parov Stelar became famous not only for Electro Swing, but also sampling on the highest level and the combination of different music styles into something new.
He is Austria’s most successful international artist and won 5 Amadeus Austrian Music Awards (2012: Best Electronic/Dance; 2013 Best Live Act, Best Electronic Act, Best Album; 2014: Best Live Act). Parov Stelar worked with Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga, Marvin Gaye, Lana Del Rey, Brian Ferry and many more. He released 6 albums, more than 20 EP’s and sold more than 250,000 albums independently. The track Booty Swing reached No. 2 in the electronic US iTunes charts and No. 1 in the Canadian charts.
The Parov Stelar Band and the Parov Stelar Trio played more than 600 live shows all around the world, e.g. sold out the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco, the Irving Plaza in New York, Club Nokia in L.A., the Forum in London twice, Zenith in Munich and Columbiahalle in Berlin on headline shows. They played many major festivals like Glastonbury, Eurockéennes, Rock Werchter, Solidays, OptimusAlive!, Zurich Open Air and co-headlined La Fete the L’Humanite in Paris in front of 100,000 people. After sold out shows at the renowned Zenith in Paris and the world famous O2 Brixton
Academy in London in November 2014, the highly anticipated new studio album ‘The Demon Diaries’ is now almost ready for release.
