PIP BLOM shares new single ‘Pussycat’!

Amsterdam’s Pip Blom has shared new single ‘Pussycat’, the first track to be taken from her upcoming new EP, titled Paycheck, released 31st August on Nice Swan Records.

Opening with a collision of guitar from both Pip and brother/bandmate Tender, ‘Pussycat’ is a roaring, attitude-laden offering, and something of a cockier, older sibling to previous single ‘I Think I’m In Love’ (which recently A-listed at BBC 6 Music).

The full EP track listing of the ‘Paycheck’ is as follows:
1. Pussycat
2. Come Home
3. The Shed
4. Hours

Topping up on a busy 2017, which saw a series of hooky singles Pip had previously simply uploaded to the internet hit over a million plays – bringing a sudden burst of overseas exposure with it – Pip’s numerous festival appearances and energetic, gripping live shows around the UK and Europe have solidified her as one of 2018’s rising guitar acts.

Not bad going for someone whose childhood songwriting aspiration of competing on the Eurovision Song Contest never really got off the ground (an adolescent attempt at penning a tune with her best friend, in her own words, “sucked”).

Still, pricking the ears of the likes of Franz Ferdinand, The Breeders and Garbage, all of whom have recently invited Pip to tour with them, as well as gaining spins and live sessions across 6 Music and Radio One, with plenty of Festival appearances fast approaching, must all be going some way to make up for early Eurovision disappointment.

Finally, after a recent UK co-headline tour with Nice Swans labelmates Sports Team, which included a sold out showcase at London’s Moth Club, Pip Blom and band will embark on a UK/EU tour from May.
