ROOSEVELT launches new single HEART!

Roosevelt’s debut album (released on August 19th) has universally been adored by fans and press alike. There was a fanfare of  critical acclaim from the likes of NPR, PITCHFORK, WALLSTREET JOURNAL, THE INDEPENDENT. He just finished a sold out US tour only to return to Europe for another run of dates and TV show appearances in France and Holland and Germany. Al whole lot of love for a 25 year old Electro Pop youngster from Cologne Germany…

But it it doesn’t come as a complete surprise. Roosevelt, the album, is an almost timeless pop-wonder full of Euphoria and Melancholia. The Cologne Disco Prince succeeded in creating his very own sound-universe. The record was released in conjunction of the Hot Chip label Greco Roman and City Slang (home to bands like Caribou and The Notwist) and charted in several European coutnries.

The last single ‘Fever’ reached Top 100 Airplaycharts in Germany, and was a huge success all over the board. Watch Roosevelt’s live performance of previous single ‘Fever’ at De Wereld Draait Door yesterday here.

Roosevelt now returns with ‘Heart’ the very last song that was added to the record, it was just a last minute demo but it was so good that the album had to be delayed again just to fit it on there because everyone knew it was a hit. Background singing comes from Valeska Steiner of the band Band Boy! Listen to ‘Heart’ here.

“A cocktail of disco, French touch, Ibiza house, yacht rock, and electropop that evokes some crowded Tiki-torch dancefloor lost on the Mediterranean coast.” – Pitchfork

“A gleaming, dubbed-out blend of ’80s new wave and electro-pop that feels like Human League at the beach. His self-titled debut album features surfy synths, wistful pop hooks and imaginative instrumentals, including tambourines, shakers, live guitar and even a glockenspiel to give his vocals a dreamy echo. Melancholic and hazy, it’s a bittersweet way to wind down the summer.” – NPR Music, Songs We Love

“Roosevelt, aka Marius Lauber, a 25-year-old producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist from Cologne, Germany, builds his meticulous tracks with care… [he] delivers bright, buoyant contemporary pop while paying homage to late 20th-century dance and pop music… He’s a musical version of a magician who doesn’t mind showing how his tricks are done – yet still manages to charm and surprise.” – The Wall Street Journal

“Electro pop of heart-tugging force” – The Sunday Times

“Roosevelt, could well follow Daft Punk to a mainstream pop crossover. This debut album has a slick sonic design and retro flavour akin to Random Access Memories,  but rather than the 70s, he’s gazing fondly back at the early rave era” –  The Independent
