These New Puritans today unveil their new single ‘Anti-Gravity’, lifted from their recently announced forthcoming album Inside The Rose, which is set for release on March 22nd. ‘Anti-Gravity’ is accompanied by a hypnotic lyric video, which sees the brothers’ Francis Bacon-like reflections set against the track’s brooding lyrics. The song is about “a person or moment suspending your disbelief and bending the rules of the world“, says Jack, to which George adds “irony won’t save you from anything“. Heavily inspired by the work of William Blake, the brothers also relate ‘Anti-Gravity’ to his quote “The imagination is not a state, it is human existence itself”. The latest single to be taken from Inside The Rose, ‘Anti-Gravity’ follows the release of the album’s title track and ‘Into The Fire’, which debuted late last year to immense acclaim. The album arrives six years after the critically acclaimed album Field of Reeds, and is arguably the Barnett brothers’ most innovative work to date.
Recorded in Berlin, London and Southend-on-Sea, and mixed in Los Angeles, Inside The Rose is a record unlike anything else you’ll hear this year – 40 minutes of powerful melodies.
